Meet Jefferson Rowland
Essays, Poems and Others Musings

We sometimes get separated from our true calling at birth and create quite a stir while wandering aimlessly. The essays shared here come from my journey, my poetry from brief moments of clarity and the rest is fiction (maybe). I don't feel I have found my true calling yet, but do appreciate that I'm free to  pursue that search. Herein I share some of  'me' to date. I hope to stir in you some sense of connection.

Full Moon Promise

Each with different dreams and needs

Neither being followers

You would have me stay, set deep my roots

And I, to see you fly

The daily compromise is tension

Each dream dusted bitter by the other

Fear, our only future

Surrender is poison, smiles come hard

No two can survive such fear

But time and space salve wounded dreams

Turned backs weaken the minutia

And love, again, does not mean surrender

Soulful living, amid one’s dream

Begs generosity a cameo

As love flows easy, recognizable then

The din of unhappiness long gone

Wine and gossip return

Alas, only in the freedom of my own dream

Can I see the joy in yours.
