Metaphysics Over-Easy (Hold the Toast)
Reflections on life over eggs at the early-morning breakfast table went from chit-chat to a more systematic exploration of circumstances:Why are we who we are? "Why ask?", you ask. Well, who amongst us has had a clean ride? Who doesn't stand knee deep in circumstances that we wish we could change - for the better. More to the point, what happened to land me 'here' and them 'there'? You know, those happy-go-lucky, glass-half-full, always-smiling people you envy. Or an even finer point; how can I get 'there'?
Nature-nurture, God-Darwin, reality-distortion and/or the Akashic field? Why did we experience what we did? Why did we do the things we did? And why do we still, sometimes, feel the way we do now despite the available options? We're not here to experience pain and disappointment to the exclusion of joy, or vice-versa, are we? Is it a choice?
And so began a journey to find the soul I was born with and manifest myself silly. To find the freedom, joy and prosperity - spiritually if nothing more - that comes from enlightenment during soul searching. If the journey ends, figuratively if not literally, with soul finding, then what actually happens along the way? I offer that the soul is the real captain of the ship, but often it is sent far below-decks, sometimes at birth or soon after, by circumstances around you. These circumstances might even be the work of your archangels busy framing up the challenges you were sent to overcome, i.e., the research arm of the collective consciousness. Enter the ego, the arch enemy who endeavors to keep the hardware and software of the human form from perfect harmony, synchronicity, with the collective consciousness that the universe seeks to perfect. The ego commandeers the ship and marauds though life in your body. Fucking pirate!
So I made friends with cappy in the bilge and actively worked with him to navigate the journey that comes with being human, or in-form to the meta-physicists, to begin to tap into the infinite knowledge and support that is offered freely to those who connect to the cosmic internet. In the early stages of evolving I did not get the concept of intention. It seemed complicated. But everyone I talked to said a journey begins with a step, so decide what you want and ask for it. Ask for it? Well, yes, sort of.
Do you remember being a child and wailing away until someone, usually mom, came along and said ‘... dear God child, what is it you want?’ No sooner did you say 'ba ba' than wham, it was shoved in your mouth. After that, you learned that saying ‘ba ba’ was equivalent to a full belly and a good nap. Well, it’s not much different as an adult. One must stop fussing about (in all its various forms, including addiction, anger, depression, etc.) and initiate the process of identifying and pursuing what we ‘want’. And since we know it works, might there be a tool or a device to speed the process? Is there a bridge between idle time and a good ride on the cosmic highway called the 'subconscious internet'? I think there is. It's kind of like the ‘Ask Jeeves’ of the spiritual, cosmic world.
Our subconscious mind, contained within the electronics of the brian, runs the software that allows us to connect to the cosmic internet and ask any question we want. As anyone knows who puts a question to Google, for instance, you get answers - lots of them. The internet 'knows'. And often, as you sift through the search results and dig down into the information that comes back, you find exactly what you were looking for. But sometimes you have to come back to it the next day, or perhaps the next even, to 'see' it. Happens all the time, right? And answers, one by one, begin to pile up and the next thing you know you have a body of knowledge and insight that not only answer your question, but actually start to free up your spirit, and indeed starts to free up your future (which is only about one second from now... and now is the past... so there really is no future, only the now) and provide exactly what it is you needed to continue your journey, in-form, toward peace and contentment.
It's a layman’s portal to the infinite knowledge and goodness of the universe. It’s a choice, but as simple as choosing AOL or Comcast, broadband or dial-up. Some of us choose God, some Buddha, some choose generic spirituality (creating their own, custom access to the cosmic internet), but they all have an account. Sometimes we go days or weeks without going on-line, or to church, or to Nepal, and so on. But they are always there for us. And once you have your account, you can go on-line (into yourself, per se) and ask anything. And the subconscious mind, the computer with the software and hardware to handle the in- and out-flow of the information you share and receive through your account, is as powerful, complex and perfect as any computer or machine that will ever exist. And once you connect with your soul, the little person at the controls, you can learn everything you need to know about anything. My little person is a frustrated old Chinese man who calls me “Grasshopper” because I do not listen to him enough. And the size of the hard drive, your brain, is actually the size of universe. It has access to unlimited resources and answers. All you need do is ask. And, yes, occasionally you need to defragment that drive to handle the massive amounts of information that collects there. But there is an ‘App’ for that nowadays – it’s called meditation.
So there you have it, my fellow travelers, the Star Trek version of life. Go forth and prosper. Oh, and thanks to my friends for the eggs and the talks. I only have them one way now – sunny-side up.
